So I'm a little bit slow to update!
Our house went on the market on the 5th of September.
The auction is at the end of October, provided we don't get a reasonable offer before then.
It's nice to have lazy weekends now that our house is complete, I suppose we should enjoy it whilst we can.
We received our first draft of our house plans last week, we need to approve these plans and pay the next installment of our deposit, pick external colours, chose our bricks and add any upgrades.
We spent last night going through colour charts, and picking colours we like.
I'm going to buy some sample pots of paint just to make sure the colour is right. I'll update once we've picked!
Once this goes through, it's onto the internal selections!!!
Until then....

An update
So a lot has happened since I last blogged!
Our renovations on our current home are coming to a close...
Hallelujah!
Just a few minor touch ups and a BBQ area to finish off!
We're hoping to get our place photographed next week to put on the market.
We have got a bit ahead of ourselves and signed off on our tender 2 days ago.
So once we settle, we'll hopefully be good to go!
Looking forward to picking out colours for the exterior, and then eventually interior.

The tale of two baths...
So with the deadline to finish our house quickly approaching, my husband has taken some time off work to renovate the bathroom.
As I type, the bathroom should probably be called the toiletroom, as there is no bath or shower in there!
The walls have been gutted, the bath/shower has been removed and the slow process of putting it all back together has commenced... swear words included.
We have decided to keep the small brown mosaic floor tiles and try and tie in a feature tile on the wall to bring it all together. It was going to be an even bigger job to re-tile the floor.
We are going to keep the bath/shower, as it's a tiny room with no room to have them seperately.
I am looking forward to finally installing the vanity we purchased over 2 years ago, and I'm eager to see how the shower niche will look (a spur of the moment thought this morning)
We bought some feature tiles last night, $2 a packet, we saved a fortune... until today....
You're probably wondering why the title of this post is "The tale of two baths".... lets just say there are 2 baths sitting on our front lawn... one is the old one that was removed, and the other is the result of a dropped hammer and a sheepish phone call telling me that we needed to now buy another new bath, as it was chipped.
Short of laughing at his sheepishness, all that could be said was okay no worries...
My husband is a carpenter by trade, lets just say he's definitely not a plumber...bless him.
Will post some before and after photos of the bathroom once it is completed, lets just say I won't miss the kermit the frog green basin or the green paint that pokes through our rough paint job that was quickly splashed on to save our eyes!
Off to pack my toiletries into my gym bag, I dare say I'll be showering at the gym in the morning...

So, it all started as a dream....
That one day we'd build our own home.....
For years we've wandered through display homes, collected brochures and pretended that we were keen on building.
We had a few factors holding us back, a house that needed to finish being renovated and we were waiting for a nice block of land.
Well, our current home is a few weeks away from being finished, a renovation years in the making and finally, we found a block of land that met all of our requirements.
We wanted a leafy outlook, a wide frontage, and a block large enough for Archie to run around in.
Enter Stonecutters Ridge, a parcel of land we found by chance, a builder we like had a display home there...
So we drove into the estate, not knowing what to expect, we didn't even know it existed, apart from seeing the golf course as we drove by on the motorway.
There were parks, great sized blocks, a golf course (I guess it's never too late to learn... right?), a few amenities that looked promising, as well as a great community feel.
So we've finally exchanged contracts on a 555sq metre block of land, if all goes according to plan, the block should settle by December and we'll be on our way to building our new home in the new year.
Between now and then, we've got to finish our current house off....
Renovate a bathroom, finish the entertainment area, put new flooring down and a list of small jobs like paint touch ups, grouting and patching walls.
We think we've picked the home we'll build, but I'll keep that under wraps until we know for certain that it's the one!
Hopefully I'll have a few things to blog about between now and when we decide on a builder....
