Another week down and another week of changes.
This week we have had painters over the weekend, garage door installed, gyprockers and carpenters finishing off things before the painters return to finish off, handles installed to all doors including my beautiful front door.
We spoke with our SS today and he expects handover on the 14th of December.
Everything is booked in up until that date.
Plumbing and Electrical fit off next week, bricklayers coming back next week to fix acid burnt bricks.
Carpet is booked in for the 27th.
Shower screens, mirrors and wardrobes were measured yesterday.
So not long now, I hope it all comes together. Cant wait to spend Christmas in our new home and spend our annual leave working on it.
Lets hope the bank plays nicely this time. The
valuer took 3 weeks last time which delayed our payment.
We are meeting the supervisor on site next week so I'll add more photos then.

November Update
Time for a November update....
Since my last update, we've had some action.
After paying for lock up 6 weeks ago... we finally have a front door, and it is so beautiful.
The carpenters had to knock out some bricks at the top of the door for it to fit as the bricklayers had bricked it up for a normal door, not a pivot door.
The front porch ceiling has now been sheeted and the cladding out the front is finished now.
The carpenters have also been through and done the bulkheads in the kitchen/pantry, and redone the bulkhead over the stairs, as it was too low with the lowered ceiling.
We are thankful that our supervisor picked this up, we're both average height and hadn't realised that tall people would hit their heads on the way down.
The gyprockers have been through and fixed up the bulkheads, some areas to the stairs, downstairs powder room & man hole.
The painters started yesterday, doing the first coat of paint on walls and ceilings.
The gyprockers will be back before they do anymore painting to patch imperfections on the walls etc
Our supervisor phoned yesterday to confirm a few paint things.
We are staining the internal sliding door to the laundry and the external laundry door, the external garage door will also be stained, and the front door will be stained too.
The staircase is going to be stained the same as the display home at Kellyville.
I can't wait to see the staircase unveiled and finished off.
So this weeks action plan is paint & gyprock.
With 6 weeks until Christmas, I am starting to doubt we'll be spending Christmas in our new house.
Maybe Santa will bring me a miracle.... I've been good all year, I promise!!

Another update
It's been a few weeks since my last update.
Since the last update the wet areas have been tiled and grouted.
The kitchen and pantry splashback has been tiled and grouted.
In the coming week, the tiling should be completed - the main floor is done after the painter has been through. Kitchen bulkheads should be framed up and the gyprockers will return to finish the bulkheads and patch up around the stairs & a few other things that needed to be set.
I've also done a little bit of retail therapy over the last week, some towels, hand towels and some cushions for the lounges. Can't wait to put all the finish touches on our home.
Not sure when we'll be in, our supervisor said he expects it to be finished mid-late November, so we'll see how we go.
We were lucky enough to get a few photos of the tiling.
So here they are:
We weren't 100% on the kitchen splashback when we first saw it, but I love it now, it's really unique, a few people who I have shown the photos to have asked if it's rusted metal, it is really rustic looking and will look fantastic once everything comes together.

Lounge Shopping
We bit the bullet and started our furniture shopping last night.
There were a few lounges to buy, and I think we're pretty pleased with the outcome.
This is what we have ordered:
The good news will be ready in time for Christmas... except the leather lounges, they should arrive in the new year.
In other house news, gyprockers have been working hard all week, they set yesterday with basecoat.
The carpenter is getting there slowly... He managed to do the bulkhead in the entry yesterday.
Still to do rear lower eaves and the trim on the front cladding.
We're on track for fix out carpenters to come through next week!!

Mid September Update
Things are progressing well so far this month.
We've had the rear roof installed, metal roof over garage and front porch installed, bathroom waterproofed, air conditioning roughed in, electrical roughed in, bricks washed, insulation installed, and today the gyprock arrived for a start tomorrow.
Our SS is sticking to the scheduled dates he gave us a few weeks back.
I'd like to tick the box that says cladding complete, but oh my gosh, we have the worlds slowest carpenter working on our place.
Not sure what his story is, but he started back on the 21st of August!
He has slowly been cladding the front.... it's almost complete, it just needs the trims to be done.
Then there is the easylap boards at the back, he's done part of the (rear) side of the house, but the back of the house is still to be done....
It would have been nice to have made the house watertight before the insulation went in.
The back of the house is still exposed, I'm just hoping the rain we've had this afternoon hasn't ruined the insulation.
No doubt the gyprockers will be waiting for him to do our lowered bulk heads in the kitchen and entrance.
Then there are the eaves at the back to be done too.
He is so frustrating!!

Picking up pace...
This week progressed well!
Rear lower roof went on Monday, our missing gutter also went on too.
Thursday saw the installation of the metal roof to the garage and front porch including trims and box gutters .
Friday, the cavity sliding door to the laundry was installed to enable the wet areas to be waterproofed.
The waterproofer will return once the walls are gyprocked to complete the work.
Our SS gave us a few key dates to look forward to.
The main ones should see gyprock on the 17th September, fix out on the 24th September and the most exciting one, kitchen on the 28th September!!!
Here are some new photos (with all the wind our fence blew over)
