A nothing update...

We're hearing a whisper that our land will be registered within the next 4 weeks... so settlement in the next 6 weeks perhaps?

We also heard from our customer service officer the other day that Blacktown Council will approve our DA prior to registration with the provision that the builder can't commence until the land is registered... that shouldn't be too hard, considering the gates are still locked up to our land.

Apparently our building contract is on its way to us.

Next weekend I might venture into the tile store and have a look around and see what is in our allowance. We don't do our tile consult until framing stage in case tiles go out of stock.

I saw this lounge the other day, I think it would look good in the family room. Some bold cushions should make it pop!

Until next time... maybe I'll have an exciting update....

Good news for a Monday

We received an email from our Customer Service Officer to say that our DA plans have been sent off to council today!!

She expects it will take 4 - 6 weeks for approval!!

Things we're waiting on -
- Interior variations to come through to approve (or decline)
- Electrical Consultation (We have been playing around with a few lighting plans)
- Tile Selection (This won't happen until we're close to lock up)
- Building Contract to sign off on (Should take place in the next 4 weeks)

And the big one that starts the ball rolling....

Land Registration!!! According to a letter our conveyancer registration is meant to take place this month... But with all this wet weather, we won't be holding our breath!

Our tile selection appointment isn't until just prior to lock up stage, so we've got a few months to think about what we'd like to do, I think we've got a vague idea though.

It's great to be finally making progress, its going to be a slow process, but worth it in the end!!

Tiny step forward

Finally we've taken a baby step forward!

Today I received an email from our customer service lady to say our contour survey has been completed and they're currently compiling everything to submit our DA to council!!! Yippeee!!

No word yet on our land registration, but the loan paperwork has been signed off on and returned, so we're ready to roll!
We did notice that there are street names up, we're not 100% certain what our street name will be, but if it's what we think it is, we are pretty happy!!

I'll update more in the coming days, tomorrow is our colour & interior consultation, so looking foward to locking all of that in. We will still need to do our electrical consultation in the coming weeks.

Until next time..........

Rain rain go away!

With all the rain Sydney has been having, the final earthworks to link the two parts of the estate together been delayed, which has delayed the registration of our land.

We have spent our weekends looking through display homes and trying to get a start on our internal colour selections, so that when we sit down at the colour appointment we will have some idea of what we like.

Our landscape plan and builders plans have since been approved through the SCR board.

Here are our plans so far, there are a few things still to be tweaked before we sign off on them.

Pre-Christmas Update

Not much has been happening, we've submitted our plans, external colours & landscape plan to SCR for their review committee to look at.
Once this has been approved, we'll be then sent off to council for DA approval.

We're been watching the progress of our land from behind a fence... it's slowly coming together.

The street lights are in, the road has been laid, the services are in, the final round about is under construction, this will join the current road to the new development.
So if all goes to plan and the rain is good to us, we should be able to stand on our land sometime in February.

With my time off over Christmas, I'd like to think I will find some time to look over our gardening books and select some suitable plants, and think a bit more about the interior colours etc

That's all for now.... Merry Christmas, and here is to a New Year and a new adventure!

An update....

With our house sold, a 30 day settlement and the mad hunt for a rental, the last thing I've had time for is to update my blog.

So whilst I procrastinate packing the last of our possessions to make the move over this weekend and Monday, I thought an update was in order!

We've approved our 2nd set of plans to now go to the SCR committee, and then onto DA approval with council.
Work is progressing in our street, it's still fenced off, so we can't get up there, but each week we drive up to the gates and peer over. There is asphalt being laid, pipes being placed in the ground and machinery buzzing around up there.

The golf course clubhouse is progressing well, and we're hearing that it will open in April next year.
We're looking forward to being able to walk 250m down the road to the clubhouse for dinner or lunch in the future.

We believe that our land will settle in February/March 2012, so we've got some time to save some money and work through our internal colour selections and tile selections.

Now for our exterior colour selections:

Bricks - BORAL - Blackheath
Mortar - Off white/Raked

Tiles - Monier Elabana profile in Barramundi
Guttering - Ironstone
Fascia - Paperbark

Downpipe/Rainwater Tank - Ironstone

Windows/Flyscreens - Paperbark

Cladding - Taubmans Coffee Break

Garage Door - B&D Panelmasta Contemporary - Merino (Paperbark)

Front door - Corinthian Doors - Pivot door

So I guess I had best be off, more boxes to pack!!

Until next time....
